In 1982, the Rowdies formed a reserve side called "Rowdies II", which would be made up of first team players not invloved in first team games, and six youngsters. Those youngsters being Matt Meyer, Matty Miller, Jack Hinton, Gordon Singleton and two players who would eventually make the first team - Jim Easton and Mark Karpun.The idea was for the Rowdies II side to play the other NASL teams reserves in a 15 game schedule.
