Rowdies Memorabilia - Ossie Ardiles Autobiography

"Ossie's Dream" - The autobiography of Ossie Ardiles, the former midfielder.
Ossie remains one of the most iconic footballers ever to have graced the English game.
After winning the World Cup with Argentina in 1978, Ossie became the first
foreign player to make an impact in the First Division, paving the way for the
modern era of multinational teams.
He became a household name, immortalised in Chas & Dave's hit record "Ossie's Dream
(Spurs Are On Their Way to Wembley)", and is still remembered fondly
today by fans both young and old.
Thirty years on from those glory days, Ossie retains a unique perspective on the
football world, from Argentina to England and through his long career in
management, with the emphasis always on style and entertainment.
In his intelligent, insightful autobiography, Ossie also talks about growing up
under a military dictatorship, how he was torn between two countries
owing to the outbreak of the Falklands War, which claimed the life of one
of his cousins, and how that football world has changed over the decades.

Rowdies Memorabilia - Tommy Smith Autobiography

"Anfield Iron" - The autobiography of Tommy Smith, the former defender/midfielder.
Footballing legend Tommy Smith played with Liverpool for eighteen years from 1960 to 1978. During this time he won almost every honour club football has to offer - 4 First Division Championship medals, 2 FA Cup winners medals, 2 European Cups, 2 UEFA Cups, 1 European Super Cup and 5 Charity Shields. He captained Liverpool for a number of seasons and played under both Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley, widely regarded as two of the greatest managers British football has ever produced. In that time he was forged into one of football's original hard men - Shankly once said, 'Tommy Smith wasn't born, he was quarried.'
A uniquely tough but thoroughly fair player (in spite of his fame for the most punishing of tackles), he was sent off only once and booked only twice, on all three occasions for dissent. In this fascinating autobiography, Tommy gives us the inside story of a whole host of footballing legends - Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley, Ron Yeats, Kevin Keegan, Matt Busby, Brian Clough, George Best, Jimmy Greaves, Bobby Moore, Denis Law and Pele, as told by one of their own.
A nostalgic view of a golden age of English football, this is a window on the glory days of Liverpool. It is also the story of the time before the game was all about the money and Tommy has a lot to say about football today - so he's not changed. As Bob Paisley once said, 'Tommy doesn't tackle opponents so much as break them down for resale as scrap.'

Rowdies Memorabilia - Peter Ward Autobiography

"He Shot, he Scored" - The autobiography of Peter Ward, the former striker.
The book chronicles the life and career of footballer Peter Ward who played for Brighton & Hove Albion, Nottingham Forest and England.
Peter also played professionally in the USA and was the Player of the Year in
1982 when part of the Seattle Sounders team that played New York Cosmos in the Soccer Bowl.
The book will be an engrossing read for all football fans - especially those of the teams that Ward played for and for fans of `real' football in the 1970s and 1980s.
In his time at Brighton, Ward became the club's record goal scorer (a record that still stands) and made a
stunning England U21 debut scoring a hat‐trick at Brighton's Goldstone Ground.
Ward's success at Brighton made him one of the most high‐profile players of his generation and he remains undoubtedly the most popular sportsman that Sussex has ever seen.
A big money move to double European Champions Nottingham Forest saw Ward experience the controversial techniques of legendary management duo Brian Clough and Peter Taylor first hand. Clough's refusal to allow Ward to return to Brighton to play in the 1983 Cup Final forced the
striker to turn his back on British football and he returned to the USA to play for Seattle and followed that with stints with the Vancouver Whitecaps and a number of professional indoor teams.
Ward temporarily returned to the outdoor game playing for RodneyMarsh and
Mark Lawrenson at the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
Since retiring from the professional game Ward has been part of a number of amateur US National
Championship teams and continues to play and coach in Tampa, Florida.
