Kevin Clinton, Goalkeeper, signed hours before the 1980 indoor roster deadline making him eligible for the 79-80 indoor action. He played a tough 30 minutes against the Detroit Express, in which the Rowdies suffered four penalty periods - two at once. Kevin, served as the Rowdies' only back-up keeper for Winston DuBose, during the second half of the 1980 outdoor season.
Made several strong appearances on the Rowdies' '80 post season England tour. The 1980-81 indoor season, he played 5 games with a 7.53 goals against average.
He was drafted in the second round of the 1979 NASL draft - the 23rd pick out of Ulster Community College.
Raised in the Rockland County soccer scene, he started playing soccer at an early age. He played all four years in goal at Ramapo High School and garnered All County and team MVP honours in his senior year. It was the second year in a row that his teammates voted him their most valuable player. Other experience included playing time with the New York Empire State team in 1977 and 1978. Was, also drafted by the MISL Hartford Hellions.
