Carlos Babington 1982

Carlos Alberto Babington "El Inglés" (The Englishman) was born September 20, 1949. He represented the Argentine national team at the 1974 World Cup.
Carlos, born in the Capital Federal district of Buenos Aires, started his career at Club Atlético Huracán in 1969, he was part of the team that won the Metropolitano 1973 championship.
In 1974, he was transferred to German team SG Wattenscheid 09, though he had also considered an offer from Stoke City due to his English ancestry.
Carlos returned to Huracán in 1979 and played for the club until 1982, when he moved to the United States to cash in at the Rowdies. He played in 20 games, with 3 goals and12 assists. He retired from soccer later that year.
Carlos later went on to manage Huracán between 1988 and 1991, and he became president of Club Atlético Huracán in 2005. A post he still holds today.
