Don Tobin had a very travelled career before joining the Rowdies in 1988, originally from England, where he signed as a schoolboy with Everton, then onto Rochdale. Over to Ireland to play for Sligo Rovers, then onto America in 1977 with the California Sunshine, Wichita Wings, Carolina Lightin', LA Lazers and the Canton Invaders. After he left the Rowdies he became Head Coach of the Memphis Rogues, then finished his playing career with the Orlando Lions.
Today, he is the Assistant Coach of the Tampa Spartans, and also finds time to be the Director of Coaching at Dunedin Stirling Soccer Club.
